PHP and PDO Error Fix Tool: Simple Solutions for PHP 8 & SQL

Free PHP and PDO Error Fix Tool: Simple Solutions for PHP 8 & SQL

Errors in PHP are absolutely the worst. You can be coding along and refresh the page and get a blank screen or a massive error.

That is why I made this ultimate PHP & PDO Error Fixer. I was getting fed up with spending hours fixing tiny errors. Recently I had an issue with connecting to a client database. I had missed one character in my PDO string and spent ½ a day trying to figure this out. Going through old StackOverflow pages and solutions which didn’t even work with PHP 8.

I wanted a simple solution where I could put all the errors in one place. I have created this tool here PHP and PDO Error fixer tool for Free. Anyone can use and fix the issues easily. This will help you fix any PHP, PDO or SQL error. It will explain exactly why your code is crashing and give you the correct fix.

How it Works:

This is a very clean solution. Select the Error Category of your issue. If you have a database connection issue select PDO & Database Connections. If you’re getting some strange errors in PHP 8 select PHP 8+ Breaking Changes.

Next select the error from the menu. You will get a list of specific errors.

It will automatically update the card to show you what the issue is in simple language.

Below this there is a red box with the error code. This is the issue causing your script to break. Below this there is a green box with a clean solution. Press the Copy Fix Code button to copy the code and paste it into your project.

Finding solutions for PHP errors can be frustrating. There are so many old solutions online. PHP 8 has completely changed how things work. Things which would have given you a warning in PHP 7 will now cause your application to crash.

For example if you try to access a non-existent array key. In PHP 7 this would have been ignored. However in PHP 8 this will now cause a warning and break your layout. Division by zero is now a fatal error. Trying to fix these issues using old solutions from years ago will just cause you more issues.

All the code solutions in the green boxes use the latest standards. Null Coalescing, Strict Types & Actual error handling.

What Issues Can Be Fixed?

  • Database Connection: These are the worst to deal with. You may get an access denied error. This is usually due to incorrect username/password. You may also get a connection refused error. This is because you have typed localhost instead of 127.0.0.1. The tool will explain why this is an issue with Unix Sockets.
  • SQL Errors: You may get an unknown column error when inserting data. This sounds serious but is most likely due to a typo in your column name. You may also get duplicate entry errors. This is usually due to someone trying to register an email which already exists in your database. The tool will show you how to use try-catch blocks to fix your query and send a friendly message.
  • File Upload Issues: Someone may have tried to upload a large file and got a PHP File Upload Error Code 1. This is simply because the file is too large for your server. I have included solutions to fix this in your config.
  • Headers Already Sent: This is the worst error. This always comes up when you try to redirect somewhere. This is usually due to some whitespace being added before your redirect. The tool will show you how to use output buffering to fix this.
  • Modern PHP: I have included a section for strict type errors. If you pass null into a function such as trim() in PHP 8.1/8.2 you will get a deprecation notice. The tool will show you how to use the null coalescing operator to avoid this.
  • PHP 8.3: If you pass a negative number into mb_strimwidth() your script will crash. This used to fail silently but now will throw a fatal error. The tool will show you how to check for this. If you need a random string PHP 8.3 has changed how you generate bytes from an empty string.
  • Security: All the SQL errors use prepared statements. No longer will you be passing in raw variables. I have included clear examples of how to bind arrays with PDO to prevent SQL Injection.

I don’t want you to waste your day trying to copy random code from forums or reading essays. When your application crashes you want to know why and have a working solution.

Have your editor open and this tool in your second tab. Simply search for your error, select your error and copy the solution.

My favourite part of this tool is the copy button! I have coded this so your solution will keep its formatting. Simply copy and continue. Bookmark dailyaspirants.com. Next time you get an exception just search for your error message, copy the green solution and continue building.
